It’s been very busy for me lately, that’s for sure. If it’s not man-eating pigs that capture my attention, then it’s the misadventures of a serial killer. And if not that, then it has to be the bipolar spy who’s trying to prevent a sequel to 9/11. And lets not forget about my ongoing music project.

But there’s no way that I was going to be missing out on the web of deceit that envelops one of my favorite shows, Sons of Anarchy.

Five Thoughts About Drive

After writing that Kentucky Fried Christianity piece, I told IHL Editor Richie that my next review/commentary would be for Justin Lin’s Fast Five (2011). Said piece has yet to be written. This is, in part, because I recently encountered and became enamored with another Lin film: Finishing the Game (2007). An article that addresses both will come eventually.

In the meanwhile, lest I become known as the dude who only likes to talk about old-ass films, here are my thoughts about a slightly more-recent film: Drive (2011).

Four Seasons of Sons of Anarchy – Commentary

A few weeks ago, FX series Sons of Anarchy wrapped up their fourth season, setting up the pieces for what promises to be another adrenaline pumping fifth. What’s that? Sons of Anarchy? 

Perhaps to those who hear that name and are unfamiliar with the show, you may wonder what sorts of smart, social-political discussion it can throw within the context of its 1-hour time slot. Well, rest assured, the show doesn’t strive quite for those heights, as anarchism involves far too many tangled and complex strings in and of itself.

This is, however, a positive thing.
